RFH
RFH started as a learning session for some new software that had been released in the late 90’s. To me, it seemed like it would be great for doing soundtrack work and backing audio beds. It was and the results of these learning sessions were Strange Highways and PPT. As time went on, the software became less and less appealing and I moved back towards traditional synth-driven scoring. Expect to see more RFH releases in the future, including a PPT re-issue (February 2025) and new material to go along with future story writing projects.

Red Red Groove
Red Red Groove was my first “real” band. By real, I mean we had releases, played tons of shows, and were semi-successful. It was at a time when the Industrial scene, driven by Wax Trax Records, was blossoming and creativity was at a new high around the music scene. The band was formed as “Red Red Groovy” by Mike Castle around 86 or 87. 1988-ish, Mike moved to Dallas and recruited Paul Haggard, shifting from more of a new wave sound to electronic. A year later, Mike returned to Tulsa. I was DJ’in at an afterhours club and Mike came up and said hello. We talked music and traded phone numbers. A few weeks later, we dropped the Y and became Red Red Groove. We released two albums in the 90’s and were on some compilations. We played with some really cool bands – Nine Inch Nails, Thrill Kill Kult, Consolidated, the list goes on and on… Around 93 or 94, things fizzled, musically, and we drifted apart. We always remained friends, though, and remained in contact. Sometime near 2020, Mike wanted to do a new album. So, of course, I agreed to help out. That album was “Return.” I really haven’t been active in the band since then, focusing on other artistic directions, but Mike continues. The Roy Holliday Show
Roy Holliday and The Roy Holliday Show were a blast. Someday I will elaborate more on how “Roy” came to be, but the quick answer is based on a character we came up with in San Antonio called N’elvis – He was called N’elvis because his momma wanted to make sure he always knew he was Not Elvis… Anyway, the N’elvis persona (a drunken, washed-up lounge singer) was applied to a modern, more realistic version and, after some market research, Roy Holliday was born. Throughout the years, producing music and The Roy Holliday Show radio show was an absolute joy. Roy and I could work together again someday. We’ll see what happens.

Frustrated Housewives
Frustrated Housewives were a mess. An intentional mess. The band was launched by myself and Devin Venable in 1995. Devin left sometime in 1996 and it just became a cast of revolving characters from there on out. The last “new” release from the band was in 2003. I have been remastering and re-releasing for archival purposes here and there. Looking back, the band was a lot of fun. We had some good times.
Band members included: Jeff Elder, Devin Venable, Stephen Bristol, Danya, Sam Shoun, Jesse, Mike Castle, Tabitha Taylor, Sylvia Darling and Adam Baum.

Trust (re-issued as Trust 93 in 2014)
Trust was a project I did in 1993. RRG had slowed down and FH hadn’t been realized. This was the in-between. The first release was a 7″ single of the song Faith, followed by a 12″ single of the song Your Moods. There were never any plans of being a full band with this. “Trust” came from within, as in, you can only truly trust yourself. By the time it got around to taking it further, I met Devin and we started Frustrated Housewives. It was more fun, so Trust faded away. When I went to re-issue the songs in 2014, a new “Trust” has reared its head. Since my version of Trust was no longer, I just tagged a “93” on the end and let them have the name. Might as well let someone use it who was actually using it.
